FAQs

What is our process?

In the beginning there are no assumptions. During our first meeting we and you explore where you are, what you have done, and if there are reasons for us to have a second meeting. There is no cost for this session. It can be in person or by Zoom. We both ask questions to see if we are a fit. If it appears that we can help you accomplish your objectives, we will outline the steps, schedule a second meeting and establish our mutual expectations. If at any time these expectations are not met, we thank each other for what was accomplished and go our separate ways.

What is the end result?

This, of course, depends on your needs and objectives. We start by learning where you are. We help you understand the seven risks during retirement and the four options of dealing with each of the risks. Many people want a retirement plan, one that maximizes their Social Security benefits, provides sustained inflation adjusted income no matter how long they live or what the market does. Some are concerned that nearly 70% of us will need some kind of extended care (Long Term Care). We help you create the retirement plan with the goal of giving you financial security throughout your life.

How are we compensated?

Our Compensation depends entirely on the strategies that you determine are best suited for your needs. Thus, we may be compensated in one or more ways which will ultimately be determined by you. Our compensation could be a fee which is based on a small percentage of the assets in your account, a commission which is based on the amount invested, or a combination of both depending upon the strategy or strategies you select. At Oxford Financial Group, we seek to be transparent about the compensation we receive. For more details on how we are compensated please visit www.dfpg.com/disclosures to view DFPG’s Form CRS.

What about ongoing service?

Our plans are built for the long run, in most cases for life. Oxford Financial Group has been in business since 1984, servicing our clients, who become our friends, with our personal touch. Some plans require regular annual or semi-annual reviews. Others can run for years without anticipated changes. Whatever is appropriate is provided. Our pledge is:

“We shall, in the light of all conditions surrounding those we serve, which we shall make every conscientious effort to ascertain and understand, render that service which, in the same circumstances, we would apply to ourselves.”
